Connecting your MSGCU account with an account from another bank or credit union. An account from another bank or credit union is referred to as an external account. First, you’ll need to link your external account to your MSGCU account. Once you log in to the MSGCU Mobile App, select transfer from the menu. On a computer, select Make a transfer from the Transfers and Payment drop down menu. The instructions are the same in the mobile app and online banking after this step. Then choose, At Other Banks. To link another bank or credit union account to your MSGCU account or to manage your existing accounts, select Manage External Accounts. The Link new option allows you to connect an account from another financial institution. The Manage accounts option will allow you to view and manage the accounts you’ve already linked. There are two ways to link an account, both allow you to safely share your information between financial institutions, and you only have to do it once. The fastest way is to select the Link External Account button. This method connects your accounts via Plaid, a third-party service. Or you can fill in your account information and wait for two small deposits to be deposited into your external account, then confirm them to connect your accounts. This may take a few business days to complete. We will walk through the first option using Plaid. Select the Link External Account button then Link new account. Enter your phone number and select continue. Next you will verify your phone number. Input the verification code you receive via text message and continue. Select from the featured options or search for the financial institution to link to your MSGCU account. Enter the log in credentials for the bank or credit union and submit. Review the accounts to be connected to MSGCU. Only primary checking and savings accounts are available to link, so you may notice some account types not displaying. Select continue. Your account has been successfully linked to MSGCU. You’re now ready to make a transfer using your linked external account. Select transfer from the menu. Then choose At Other Banks. Your linked external accounts display as options in the from and to dropdowns. Select the accounts you want to transfer from and to, then fill in the transfer details and complete your transfer.
